Primary Purpose of the Position


• To provide support to the production of
artworks in so far as proofreading or checking
of the text content and placement of elements
of each job are concerned, ensuring that the
artworks or digital proofs submitted to clients
are free of errors, corrections are incorporated
and that all specifications laid out are present
and correctly done.


Job Descriptions


1. Receives and evaluates job orders, ensuring
completeness and correctness in specifications,
instructions and materials.
2. Arranges briefing among the Graphic Design
Head or artist, Account Officer / Project
Coordinator and Pre‐press Technician to
discuss job in detail and agree on deadlines
3. Forwards job and all enclosures to Graphic
Design Head or assigned Artist
4. Monitors progress and movement of jobs
during artwork generation stage.
5. Coordinates closely with Graphic Design Head
or Artist, taking into consideration lead times
and deadlines agreed on.
6. Coordinates also with the Sales Management
Group on the timely turnover of materials and
approval of artworks.
7. Proofreads materials produces (i.e. laser, digital
proofs of artwork and final layout)
8. Reads and scrutinizes text content of assigned
jobs for possible mistakes other oddities.
9. Returns the job folder together with the
proofread material to respective artist for
corrections; if there are, of the concluded /
proofread material and ensures that the
correction is properly incorporated.
10. For jobs needing Digital Color Proofs: checks
and corrects digital proof before releasing to
Account Management for client’s approval and
or prior to the job’s output.
11. Ensures that approved digital proofs are signed
by client and uses this as basis for proofreading
of final artwork / layout.
12. For final output: ensures that the job is free of
errors, especially the text content, and contains
the necessaries as specified by the clients
before turning the job over to the Pre‐Press
Department.
13. Ensures that all attachments are within its
designated folder.
14. Works closely with the Project Coordinators on
press schedules to determine priorities in the
turnover of final approved digital artwork files
to Pre‐press, targeting a timely turnover of
plates to Press.
15. Inputs date / time of receipt of jobs and other
pertinent data in the JTNet program and the
Graphic Design Job Track module.
16. Regularly updates both modules to reflect
movement of jobs
17. Records activities of Product Development jobs
during design / artwork stage and is
responsible for the completeness and accuracy
of data in the artwork history of job being
developed
18. Generates monthly reports on timeliness
performance in terms of turnover of digital
proofs and final digital files
